Teacher Professional Development A
special section of the journal will be devoted to
this year's theme: "Teaching Change in a Changing World." Teachers
and teacher educators must reconcile and
work within a shifting landscape of multiple levels of change. On one
hand, we
receive educational mandates from national, provincial, or state
governments;
on the other, we draw from our personal-professional knowledge to craft
curriculum and design programs. Both of these contexts are placed
within larger
national and international change processes. Sometimes these processes
line up,
but often there is an element of tension between or among them. To
illuminate "Teaching Change in a Changing
World," we are seeking empirical and theoretical papers that document
or
explore these questions: How do we negotiate contradictory change
contexts and
processes within the teaching profession? What do these processes mean
to us in
terms of practice? We
are interested in promoting an inclusive dialogue
and invite submissions from faculty, graduate students, and practicing
K-12
teachers and administrators. PAPERS
MUST BE SUBMITTED BY E-MAIL NO LATER THAN
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2008. Guidelines for formatting and submission can
be
found below. Papers
will be peer reviewed and decisions will be
based on the relative strength of manuscripts and the amount of journal
space
available. Authors will be informed of editorial decisions by Thursday,
January
15, 2009. We
look forward to an engaging Spring 2009 issue! Richard
Sawyer and Jason Margolis Co-Editors ================================= 2)
